Ogasawara is located in the Pacific Ocean within the Bonin Islands chain about 600 miles south of Tokyo. It takes 25.5 hours on ship from Tokyo to Chichi-jima Island. The Bonin Islands chain are made up of four main island groups; Mukojima, Chichijima, Hahajima and Kazan Islands. Only Chichijima and Hahajima are inhabited.
